if you don't know this hospital LC "to talk to" then it is time you did. if
the doctor wanted an opinion from the or someone else, he wouldn't hesitate
just because he was not an acquaintance. if you contact another professional
about a client/patient, that's how it is supposed to work. after you talked to
this mother, you should be sending your recommendations to the doctor/lc also.
sharing professional observations/recommendations is how it works, and helps
the mother best. fax machines are very useful. they are neutral and fast, and
the doctor is more likely to glance at the paper than to take your phone call.
if you have seen this client, then it is your obligation to report to her
other health care providers. with your recommendations!
