Folks,

I've searched the archives and couldn't find a definitive answer to this
question (I noticed that the 95-96 archives aren't available, is that right?).

Anyhow, I have a question about obesity and co-sleeping. I've seen various
posts referring to "morbid obesity" as a risk factor in co-sleeping. Why
is this a risk factor? My understanding is that 100 pounds or more
overweight is morbidly obese, but I know many women of 250+ pounds who
sleep with their children with no ill effects. Is it a question of how
deeply one sleeps? I know many big light sleepers... Is it related to not
knowing the boundaries of your body? Why is this considered a risk factor
and where is it documented?

I'd be curious as to whether it's been studied in societies where people
co-sleep as a rule.

Thanks for your help,

Kirsten
