I have enrolled two moms in the study. Both had been pumping prior to the use of the newer pump, one with a Medela PIS and one with the Hollister Purely Yours. One mom felt it was more comfortable but the other mom felt it was very painful. Both moms reported that it took twice as long to get the same volume of milk with the Embrace as with their regular pumps. Both said the motor went in fits and starts, once at the highest setting it vibrated itself right off the table! Both found the inner flanges harder to clean and felt that milk collected in the folds so that some of it was lost in the process. Both liked the case and organization. Neither would recommend or buy the pump. I will not enroll any other moms (supposed to enroll 5) as I do not feel that it is really effective especially in the double pumping mode when the pressures are too low. I also have trouble with their claim of "hospital grade".
