Donna,
   I wouldn't be surprised if not giving a woman that much power had
something to do with it.  However, I heard at a conference once that in
the USA it is illegal to sell organs (ie. for transplant,etc.).
Somehow, breastmilk was/is classified as a 'loose organ' so it cannot be
sold here.  Maybe someone on the list involved with a milk bank can post
and tell us for sure if this is really true.
