I am working with a mom whose infant was delivered after a very long, difficult labor due to nuchal hands.  Mom had 3rd and 4th degree bilaterial sulcus tears because baby did not move hands away from face before birth.  Baby's latch is very painful for mom.  Baby has some signs of restrictive frenulums but I also think that she has some structural issues due to her birth.  She resists being placed on her abdomen and is very difficult to breastfeed due to her wanting to hold her hands across her chest and near her face.  She feeds best when swaddled.  Has anyone had experience with this type of birth and latching difficulties?

Baby does have an appointment with a CranioSacral Therapist.
