I'm not an attorney, but that won't stop me from commenting on what I
believe to be a more legal than ethical issue here.

Prescription drugs are given by prescription for a *reason.* As a nurse,
registered in NY, VA, and DC, I would fear that in giving *any*
prescription drug to an adult, far less a lactating mother, I'd be risking
my license to practice. My instructors at school always drilled it into us
that an action like this constitutes practicing medicine without a license.

This scares me, and I hope it scares everyone.
