If you want to go down the "no soap" path try looking up "acid mantle" --
this research I think was done back in the 90's. (I don't have time to
google around today!)

Dawn Kersula MA, RN, IBCLC etc etc in Vermont
....where we tell mothers to NEVER give an immersion bath until after the
cord comes off - obviously very evidence based (tongue firmly in cheek)

...and who has used up all her quotation marks for the day
