I just had to share: For three months now I have been helping a mother who
has had an incredible number of challenges. Her babe was born at 32 weeks,
NICU for several weeks, sent home at 4 lbs with little lactation help, baby
couldn't coordinate suck, swallow, breathe, massive mastitis to the point of
pumping pus (thanks for your help, everyone) , awful, recurrent thrush,
transportation problems, sore , bleeding nipples, low income, WIC
continually taking their pump back, lactation supplementer, baby completely
bottle-fed EBM, dwindling supply, rebuilding supply with galactagogues - you
name it - a real train-wreck!!
She called and told me that she now, at 3 months, had the baby completely
nursing at the breast with no supplements, happy and satisfied for several
days now. Some calls make it all worth it.
