Hi all,
Baby is now able to transfer unassisted between one
ounce and one and one half ounces before tiring. This
may not sound like a lot, but it is HUGE for her.
When I say unassisted, I mean with no shield or
Lact-Aid. Just good, old fashioned breastfeeding
;-)She can take a good bit more with the Lact-Aid, but
mom doesn't use it all the time. Powdered formula is
being added to EBM for about 3-4 feeds per day and wt
gain is now at the 1oz per day range. Mom has been
using a Symphony pump and now has a surplus!!! This
has been a case when a scale in the home has been a
big help. Mom has been much more relaxed about
breastfeeding now that she can see how much baby is
taking at the breast. Now most feeds are at least
partially at the breast where before there was maybe
one breastfeed a day. Most of this progress has been
since Thursday.
We are both very pleased with the progress and she is
excited to share it with you all.
Thanks so much.

Regards,
Cindi Swisher
