I don't know of any research in this area, but anecdotally, we find that 
many women who needed medical/fertility help in getting pregnant have 
milk supply problems. The lactation dept at one of our hospitals with a 
big fertility practice nearby sees many such cases. I have also had a 
few fertility treatment women  in my WIC practice and have found they 
tend to have low milk supplies. Not everyone but many if not most. And 
having a premature baby may skew things to the low side since she is 
pumping -- meaning the women I help in WIC.
