I have seen this on numerous occasions. Because the secretion seems so
weird coming from a baby's breast, it's called 'witches' milk. I have also
seen this in baby boys.
Very often the baby also had a disc shaped swelling of the breast tissue.
If not left alone it can get inflamed.

I haven't seen it like this though. The baby's sternum often seems more
like you described the lump but it''s more centered and further away from
the areola.
