The reason we usually only loss a little hair daily is because different hair
follicles are at different stages of growth.  During pregnancy hair growth
is somewhat arrested, thus when pregnancy is over, it is not unusual to loose
alot of hair - left over from what didn't fall out during pregnancy.  There
is a technical name for this but I am blanking on it at the moment. Yes, it
a result of pregnancy, not lactation.
