I remember a number of years ago when we first started hearing a lot about cabbage.  I was talking with one of our esteemed colleagues from "Down Under" where apparantly it had been used a lot.  I asked her, "Do you have any idea of how it works?  We sometimes get in trouble here (the US) if we don't have researched evidence for our suggestions."  She looked at me with a rather incredulous look on her face and answered, "Why, the same way it works when you put it on a swollen ankle!"
