I love the posters and wish we could right now this very day, week , month
could feel comfortable using them in all of the US.

I teach a breastfeeding class at our hospital and I do talk about discreet
nursing because I know that many women in the classes have talked to me about
it and have been reticent to breastfeed when out in public, so I try to
paint a picture of how you can be at ease in public. Unbutton from the bottom,
look at yourself in a mirror breastfeeding at home to see how little shows.
Use a fitting room in a department store vs. a restroom for privacy if you
seek it. Choose a booth or banquette at a restaurant, and even though I don't
personally like them for many reasons, even mention cover-ups -emphasizing
eye contact with the baby.

And I have to admit that while I talk I want to be saying, nurse anywhere
any time with as much of your breast exposed as you feel comfortable.

The first two Nova Scotia posters shout the joy of breastfeeding and are so
pleasing. The second two seems more neutral to me, not much expression, but
do carry a message.

I still have to deal with a coworker who share our patient education room as
a massage therapist and takes down some of our breastfeeding posters "because
not everyone would be comfortable with them." I say let them see them and
get accustomed to the idea that women breastfeed and this is what is looks
like. Still many of them stay up. A postcard from the UK that shows a baby
with a beautiful smile near the bared breast, the nipple barely discernable.
The two scoops of ice cream US Ad campaign poster, the INFACT Canada
Breastfeeding for al the right reasons poster are up in the room permanently.
