I am not sure how anyone read my post about possible reasons most LCs work
in hospitals, and made it into an RN vs non-RN issue. (A subject which has
been extensively discussed on lactnet and continues in debate, rightfully
so). I urge folks to re-read my post. I am saying this because the message
said it was responding to laurie wheeler.

When I became a nurse in 1979, I had not a clue, really, about babies,
breastfeeding, nor IBCLCs. However, I do think that my nursing education and
experience has been very valuable in my LC work, as I'm sure a teaching, or
a nutrition, or public health background are highly valuable as well.
Best regards all,
Laurie Wheeler RN MN IBCLC
