This case sounds like a ductal bacterial infection. We are finding that 
these are not usually staph aureus, but staph epidermitis. It is best 
for the milk to be cultured after cleaning the nipple-areolar complex 
with alcohol. IF the culture shows staph epidermitis, then I recommend 
asking for sensitivities for the organism.
This woman likely needs at least 6 weeks of antibiotics, based on my 
experience.
