Put them in the closet! But seriously, I have more mothers who refuse to pump when they need to than I do that want to pump when they don't! Mothers who NEED to pump are more likely to get that pump if there's one readily available. There are also IV pumps in every room in most hospitals. Does that mean every person gets an IV? Only when they need it.

Subject: pumps in every post partum

We are having a new concern with pumps bieng put into every postpartum room. Our worry is that the mothers who don't need breast pumps will be influencd by the pump just bieng in the room ( subliminal suggestion). What do we think about the ethics involved with this issue. Thanks Germaine
