Perhaps baby can't handle strong let-down? TT babies in particular have problem handling fast flow. I've heard of women applying compression against breast near/on areola to slow down flow. Just a thought.

She was breech, undiscovered until my daughter had labored for over 12 hours... A story for another day. She nurses well and has gained close to a pound (they are relaxed about weight here). Problem seems to be that the baby has the ability to get a lot of milk and becomes uncomfortable long before she is satisfied sucking. So she revolves from eating, fussing, wanting back on the breast, gets too much, seems to be in pain, wants breast, gets too much, and so forth. She will sometimes suck on a finger, hates a pacifier. Not sure what to suggest! Any ideas? By the way, I am suspicious that her growth slowed in utero- her head circ. and size are not typical for the families. So I am delighted that she eats vigorously, just hate to see her so frequently distressed. And I'm not sure block feeding so soon is wise, rather, that she needs to grow into her supply?
