I posted this to CBS's site for the show under complaints:

"I was very disappointed to see how your show handled the issue of extended
breastfeeding. I am the nation's expert on breastfeeding and the law, and
you are clearly wrong in portraying it as something improper, or not done
in the United States. I believe that you have misled the public by
suggesting that Judges would rule 'against' mothers for engaging in this
practice, which is more common in the U.S. than you may realize. If you had
researched this more thoroughly, you would have learned that the Judge who
initially ruled against the Illinois mother on this issue vacated her
findings, and that no social service agency has found it to be improper.
The American Academy of Pediatrics, WHO and UNICEF are all encouraging
mothers to breastfeed longer, and child led weaning is not only appropriate
but recommended. So many women in the U.S. are nursing past what you
apparently think is an appropriate age that there are three books on the
subject that have chapters on nursing past age four. It is a shame that you
had to take such a negative position on this issue, as it will likely
alienate many breastfeeding mothers, as well as cause them to fear
consequences for this basic act of nurture. I suggest that you research
such 'hot issues' more thoroughly before airing a show on them. "
