that I decided having the thrush was the better option.  I can't
imagine getting a baby to accept it in an oral treatment.  Did I get a
bad bottle, or is it always like this?

I've never used it orally - wouldn't know what dilution to use.
However, applied topically and diluted 1:10 with a carrier oil such as
sweet almond oil, it certainly prevents cold sores getting to that
awful crusty stage. My partner used some last month and the cold sore
was gone within 24 hours.
