Hello all,
Studying as much as I can so I don't FREAK come test time! Just wanted
to let you in on something. My sister (a past BF mom) teaches 4th graders.
Today they got out the Nat. Geographic magazines. Yes, the ones with a
infant at breast. Many were "gagging and grossing out" when lil' sister
caught them. She also noted that one young man was embarrassed d/t the
fact that his mom is feeding an infant. Sooooooo SAD!!!!
Needless to say the teaching began. She explained that dogs and cats
fed babies from their "breasts" and that she herself fed her children. Sis
even quoted stuff that I had been spouting off to her about.......BFing
Increasing IQ....helping the brain to grow.....by the end of the "session"
many children were raising hands and admitting that they were BF and that
is probably why they were so smart!!!

Kathy D. Perhaps this is another example of how breasts are viewed as sex
objects. It obviously begins at a very-very early age.

I am very proud of sis. I would think most teachers would collect the
magazines and leave the questions to the health teacher????

Cold again in Oklahoma!
