Hi, I'm Cheri Singleton, a new LLLL in MN. Today I got a call from one of
the moms in our LLL group. She ate french fries fried in peanut oil for
lunch and is very allergic to peanuts. She was vomiting within ten minutes,
which is her usual reaction. Her concern was for her 3mo, and she wanted to
know if there was any possibility that she could pass peanut proteins in her
milk. I know babies can sometimes be sensitive to cow's milk proteins in
breastmilk, but considering she was vomiting so soon after eating the fries,
I would guess there's not much chance of peanut protein(?) in her milk. I
searched the archives, but didn't find anything...anybody know if she needs
to be worried?

Cheri, LLLL
mom to Melinda (7.6), Heather (5.2), Nicholas (2.10), and Matthew (7 mos)
wife to James for 9 years
