Hi there all - this is Anne Merewood, from BMC
I was thrilled to get the news today that the 20/20 segment about NBAC, which ran on the Campaign launch date and covered the controversy so well, won an award for ABC. I am reprinting the announcement here. The best person to whom any congrats could be sent is Jill Rackmill, the Producer, who worked long and hard to create this program:

I am very pleased to announce the following ABC News Winners in the 30th Annual Gracie Awards sponsored by American Women in Radio & Television (AWRT). For more than 50 years, AWRT has served as the voice and resource for women in the electronic media. And for 30 years, the Foundation of American Women in Radio and Television has been a leader in education and celebration by honoring programming that is created for women, by women and about women, as well as individuals who have made exemplary contributions to the industry. The Gracie Awards recognizes the realistic and faceted portrayal of women in entertainment, commercials, news, features and other programs. The Gracies bring together industry luminaries, broadcasting and cable professionals and students who gather in New York to celebrate the outstanding achievements of their colleagues.

The Awards will be presented at their Gala on Wednesday, June 22, 2005, in the Broadway Ballroom at the New York Marriott Marquis, 1535 Broadway, New York.

ABC News Winners:

PrimeTime Live
"Women In Maximum Security"
News Story - Single Entry Category
This program is an in-depth investigative documentary profiling the sub-culture and conditions of the women at Metro State Prison in Atlanta, Georgia. In the course of investigating this topic, we discovered that over 50% of the women suffered from mental illness as the prison struggled to cope with a growing problem they were ill equipped to handle.

20/20
"Milk Money" (Breastfeeding)
Outstanding Investigative Program
It was a controversy some saw as corporate power against mother's milk. Under intense pressure from the giant infant formula industry, the U.S. Department of Health killed a series of public service announcements designed to promote breastfeeding. 20/20 obtained the never-aired commercials and examined the insidious influence of corporate money on public policy.
