I am so swamped with requests for this here goes. Yes these herbs are
considered medicines at this point.
doc's these are alternatives and yes they have been used in combination with
reglan for mom whose babe came in a real hurry. There are a couple of
caveats, Mom knows and signs consent forms, a medical and allergy history is
taken and follow up is weekly. As two of the herbs on this list are known to
alter insulin need levels close followup is recommended or substitute
blessed thistle, or borage for these protocols. Will be glad to send
references and stuff to those who need or want and send me a snail mail
address to my private e-mail at [log in to unmask] I also worked this with
the assistance of a midwife of 30 years , and yes, it will be published in a
slow going book some day.
Also, i do use a nursing supplementer when the baby get here just to help
with latch and to help moms nerves; she eventually weans form it .

Pumping. Mom does a gentle and firm breast massage before pumping. Also tell
her to use a little lanolin or olive oil on the nipples to aid in the
adjustment to pumping. hopital grade pump, double kit.
1st week- 6-8 wks prior to baby - pump 10 min 6 times daily
2nd week 4-6 weeks prior pump 20 min 6x daily
3rd week 2-4 weeks prior pum 20 min 6-8 x daily
4th week 1-2 weeks prior till baby arrives 20 min 8- 10 times in 24 hr
period at least 1 night session.
Herbs. Capsules, tablet or tincture can be used. measurements are given for
both, but a few I can find only in certain forms. so those are the
measurements given.
Alfalfa tablets- start 1 tablet 4x daily work up to 8 per day. If yu get
loose stools cut back on dose. Contains lots of absorbalble vitamins and
minerals and has phyto estrogen precoursors for ductal development.
Fenugreek,( 425 mg caps) 3 caps 3 x daily, 3 stiff cups tea daily, or 1-2ml
tincture 3x daily. (IDDS use with care, or substitute borage, blessed
thistle)
Goat's Rue ( galega officionales) 1ml tincture 3x daily.( IDDS care or
substitute) bothe these have been used for centuries for induction and to
develop the breasts. IMHO works well and fast
Marshmallow root- 2 caps dailyor .5 ml (1/2 ml) of tincture daily-
demulcetent- produces mucous and primes the mucosa of the ducts - so to
speak.
Borage seed oil- 1 or 2 (1000mg ) caps per day, 1ml tincture or 1 pint of
borage leaf tea daily. High in gamma lenoleic and gamma lenolenic acids,
make the milk richer.
Substitutes - for Borage 1, 1,000 mg cap of evening primrose oil does the
same thing
Fenugreek and blessed thistle- 3 (450mg) caps 3 x daily or 1ml tincture 3x
daily. Herbs should be taken with lots of water or red rspberry tea. For
digestive comfort mom may want to eat a little snack when they take these
herbs. Singles work well but combinations help to work better.

Let me know if you use this and are successful. Have a long list of other
lactagogues- but those are going in the book too
