In our area CNSs began to filter into the hospitals in the mid to late
1980s.  I was working as a hospital LC and immediately thought that that
was what an LC was. A clinical nurse specialist in lactation.  The nice
part about LCs is that you don't have to be  a nurse.  :-)  Sincerely, Pat
