The hospital where I work has told me that we cannot use the codes that have
been used on superbills for years for outpatient consultations
For instance the 99201, 99202, 99203 etc.
They say these codes are for physicians.
They want to use the codes for Medical Nutrition Therapy 97802 etc
Has anyone else ran into this situation - I am wondering how this will
affect coverage.
Also Medicaid in Indiana has told them they do not cover lactation
consultations even though they cover breastpump rentals - anyone have any
knowledge on this?
