Dear Debbie, I think it is because IBCLCs do not have formal training, as
opposed to a nurse/LC, who at least has nursing tx.  Probably has to  do
with the particular hospital's idea of liability.  There are a number of
non RN LCs working in US hospitals.  Licensing is another whole issue and I
think I remember that it wouldn't help us.  Can't remember why.  Sincerely,
