> Pardon my abusing this list to send a link to an interview with still photos of my granddaughter's birth.  Unless you understand Norwegian you won't undersatnd what my daughter and son-in-law are saying but the pictures are good.  They are just talking about what they appreciated about the care they got.  I'm the round person with glasses and very short hair in several of the pictures.  A second cousin of my SIL is a photojournalist who was doing a story on the closure of this beautiful maternity unit and she took the pictures and did the interview.  It's now definite, the unit will close on June 30.  They hope to continue to offer the same kind of birth care in a small unit contained within the largest hospital in Oslo. It remains to be seen; I'm not sorry my granddaughter was born while this place existed.

--
Because the Medieval Church, with the support of kings, princes and
secular authorities, controlled medical education and practice, the
Inquisition constitutes, among other things, an early instance of the
"professional" repudiating the skills and interfering with the rights
of the "nonprofessional" to minister to the poor. -Thomas Szasz, The
Manufacture of Madness-
