Íf I had a situation like this I'd try to soften the mom's breasts as much
as possible before feeding. I suppose that the bathing is softening them as
well. So, I'd suggest applying moist heat (as warm as is comfertable to mom)
and massaging, perhaps pumping.
Another though that came up reading this casus, was the story I heard of a
mom with rather sturdy hairs on her areola. Might this perhaps be a clue?
Could the mom have hair or any kind of skin variations that irritate the
baby when nursing?
I suppose you already tried the supplementer on the breast?
