Barbara, the first thing I thought of is thyroid problems. She shouldn't be
so cold all the time, especially in Austin, Texas. Something's wrong with the
mom, probably endocrine, and if one endocrine thing isn't right it could
effect other hormonal functions.  Suggest a good general health checkup and
possible endocrinology referral.
