I have a mom with nipple pain, baby without tongue tie - but has very long tongue and still lifts back of the tongue, compressing and creating a white stripe on mom, even with tip of the tongue extended over the lip line!

I would also choose D.
You could reason, however, that a baby with a tongue-tie could be correctly positioned yet still leave a compression stripe, so that is not incorrect positioning.
Yet you could also reason, and I have seen many, babies just nipple sucking do not always cause nipple pain. Some moms don't have pain.
Like you, I would not leave a critique of that question.
