I've read the info in the Red Book, CDC info. It sounds like some immunity
is life long, but if rebitten a booster is given. Also in US if bitten you
receive 2 different kinds of vaccine, active and passive immunization. One
is for immediate prevention and the other is for future protection (I
think). If mom is getting active and passive protection, I just don't see
how baby will get rabies. Wouldn't baby only be theoretically exposed if
vaccine doesn't work and mom becomes infected? Sincerely, Pat in SNJ
