I do not do digital assessment. I look inside the baby's mouth, at the
palate, etc, tongue, and tongue extension. Then, I look at the baby at the
breast, the latch, the exact technique of latch in terms of mechanics of
the baby on the breast, if I see the baby moving from flutter sucking to
long draws of milk...I go by Jack Newman MD's piece on latch at
www.breastfeedingonline.com. (Cindy's website).  I meant that I do not do
suck assessment per se, with my finger, or any suck training, etc, whatever
that may be. I don't know  anything about that, myself. Kathleen
