martha, what i find interesting about this case is that nowhere did you say
that the mom wants to change all of her meds, etc., to breastfeed. so why
this terrible fear on everyone's part? we know that adoptive moms don't have
the same hormonal profile as a woman who just gave birth, but i don't know of
anyone who uses hormones to help a mom induce lactation (if someone is doing
this or knows about someone that is doing so, please post about it). so why
not?

i have been told that fenugreek can change your blood glucose levels a bit
and would cause a mom to make some changes in her treatment, and that this
might be a reason to tell her to not take fenugreek if she is diabetic. i
also prefer use of domperidone rather than reglan for a mother seeking to
induce lactation, for several reasons.

i mention this because one of my potential adoptive moms told me that on her
adoptive-breastfeeding-moms list someone has reported that the domperidone
they ordered from thailand had been seized by customs as being an "illegal
drug." i was unaware of anyone even ordering it from there, and have heard of
no problems with ordering it from either mexico or canada. i am hoping that
particularly with the orders from canada, which are by prescription, there
will be no trouble.
