R.E. Prolactinoma:  If the prolactinoma is large (>1cm), it can eventually
cause pressure symptoms, such as blindness.  Much worse than
the (usually)transient side effects of bromocriptine!  Also, if this woman
wishes another pregnancy, she almost certainly will have to take bromo-
criptine in order to ovulate.  She's lucky the clomiphene worked the last
time by itself!  (High prolactin levels tend to inhibit ovulation.)
In other words, she needs more comprehensive and less sensationalistic
information about bromocriptine than she seems to have received from
whoever diagnosed her tumor.  I have encountered this problem several
times in my own practice, and I must say I find it very satisfying to have
such an effective and safe treatment (other than brain surgery) available
to my infertility patients.   Hope this is helpful.
