To Diane re. your mom with the rash on her breast and hips, also the
persistent case of thrush in the baby.
The rash may need to be evaluated by a dermatologist and preferabley one who
is breastfeeding friendly. I think it would good for this mom to rule out
contact dermatisis verses other types of rashes.
As for the persistent thrush in the baby I noted you said the baby uses a
pacifier. Is mom being treated along with baby? Is mom washing her bra every
day? Does she have a number of pacifiers so she can boil them after every
use? Candadis can be very persistent and this mom needs to evaluate these
questions to help address the problem, medication alone will not necessarily
resolve it.
I'd also recommend she seek help ASAP so she can get relief.
