What is pedialite ?

We used to have stuff called paediatric electrolyte that was available on
maternity wards in the UK - would this be the same?

It was a clear fluid, given by bottle, instead of water, as a supplement to
breast or formula milk.

Its use faded away about 15 years ago. It was not thought to be of any
benefit to breast or bottle fed babies.

Like Carol, I wondered if the post about the baby whose tongue/suck was
causing concern meant that the baby was being given this - whatever it is
: ) - for five days, via the SNS. Would this be of benefit to the baby?
I hope I can be clarified on both points.
