In addition to worrying about the effects on the baby of being abruptly
weaned to formula and the mother's milk supply diminishing while not
breastfeeding, what about the effect on the baby of an abrupt reduction in
his nicotine levels?  If the mother has been smoking, the baby has been
getting nicotine in the milk and may suffer withdrawal symptoms if switched
to formula.  Why not just have the mother continue breastfeeding?  This is
silly.
