Aloha,

I am working with a mom who has an abundant supply of milk.  Due to latch-on
problems and lack of help after birth, mom did not nurse for the first week.
Doctor told her to pump because she had NO MILK.

Mom called me when baby was about 4 weeks.  Still pumping and baby now
nursing.  Her description of what was going on sounded like oversupply.
Suggested she nurse one side per feeding and STOP pumping--unless she needed
to relieve engorgement--and then only enough to relieve the engorgement.

Saw her this week.  Baby now 5 weeks doing better, but mom still producing
lots of milk.  She gets very uncomfortable at night--even with baby nursing
every 2 hours.  She pumped for 5 minutes and got 7 ounces of milk from one
side!

She is planning on starting the minipill next week when baby is 6 weeks.  Her
doctor said this may help with her oversupply as some moms experience
decrease in milk on the pill.

Baby has gained well, but is still very gassy/colicky.

I was hoping for more suggestions to help this mom.
