My thesis director told me about a cartoon of a mother walking around
like this. The caption read: "Oh dear! I must have left my baby on the
bus!"
At the time I was embarassed but, thinking back, I think it was
delightfully subversive to be known around the university as a
breastfeeding mother, as well as a doctoral candidate.
