Dear Jaye,

You are so experienced, you have probably thought of all this already. But
my quick thoughts are:

Jayne states: "Both moms do fine while treating but within 4 days of
stopping treatment - the thrush flares again."

Some yeast protocols advise continuing treatment for at least 1-2 weeks
after the last symptoms have disappeared. Have your moms been able to do
that? Are they continuing with APNO, or even just bactroban, after
discontinuing diflucan?

As for the nipples shield problems, I'm assuming they are already using the
biggest size available.

Really feel for you guys out west right now. I'm in NY and we're in the
upper 80/low 90 range with a ton of humidity - very uncomfortable,
especially for those of us without AC. I'm sure the yeastie beasties are
loving it, however.

Sharon Knorr, IBCLC
