Dear Lactnet Friends:

Maybe that isn't the question, because Stephi (who posted this question) is
already "going" against the doctor based on clinical experience and
evidence.

Maybe the question is really, "How do I give the best information so that
the mother and baby are helped and the pediatric provider stays open and
willing?"

I have said, "I disagree with what your physician is recommending. Here is
why. If I gave you some materials to share with your physician, would that
be helpful? Or would you prefer I call the physician?"

We don't want to put the mother in the middle and we want to keep our
community relationships professional and collegial.

warmly,
