<Ultrasound can help in some cases either to disperse the
lump or to perhaps show if it is a galactocele.>

Ruth, there are two types of ultrasound: diagnostic and therapeutic. The
diagnostic ultrasound is performed by radiographers/radiologists and will
show if a lump is solid or cystic (filled with fluid). The therapeutic
ultrasound is usually performed by a physiotherapist and may help break
down blocked ducts (as Jack has said, if two treatments haven't worked,
don't continue the therapeutic ultrasound). Hope this makes sense.
