Lori from Massachusetts described an all too familiar setting where health
professionals feel obligated to give out materials to parents supplied by
formula companies because the materials are free. The excuse offered is that
"we have to make a living in these cost-containing times" or something to that
effect. This excuse is used to exempt providers from either making their own
materials or finding acceptable community service organizations to fund
materials.

However, in Massachusetts we have a wonderful FREE patient education tool
called "Growing Up Healthy" provided by the state department of public health.
It is a health diary that emphasizes breastfeeding and has a pocket on the
inside of the back cover for the Massachusetts Lifetime Health and Vaccination
Record.

To distribute these diaries to your patients call 800 952-6637

These easily replace the formula company marketing tools masquerading as
immunization records with formula cans on every page.
