PTP. I am working with a mom whose baby had his posterior tongue tie and lip tie revised by Dr. Kotlow. BF went beautifully for 3 weeks afterwards. Parents report that they faithfully did the stretching exercises 4 times per day for 2 weeks. Now, lip tie and tongue tie have reattached and they have scheduled another revision. I'm wondering if there is anything that can be done to prevent the reattachment from happening after this 2nd revision.

One idea I had was for mom to stop prenatal vitamins before the revision and for a few weeks afterwards, in case excess folic acid in her milk was encouraging unwanted cell growth and healing of the surgical sites. But I can't find a strong case in the literature for this idea.

Anyone else have any ideas?
