In response to the woman whos milk came in prior to delivery...
I have a mom who did the same thing.  It became a real problem for her.
About 4 week before delivery, she became engorged and developed mastitis.
The physicians told her this was not possible and sent her home from the
office on tylenol for discomfort.  That night the left breast literally burst
out around the nipple.  She ended up in the hospital  for IV antibiotics for
days.  After delivery I got a referral for her.  Milk came in on both breast
but the left breast developed an abcess by about 10 days postpartum.  Back to
the hospital and surgical excision of the abcess.  Left her with a deformed
nipple and a huge hole in the breast.  The physician's response was that
there was so much damage to this breast that the only thing to do was to
remove all of the milk ducts.  Mom was  very upset and wanted to know what
would her breast look like after this removal.  The surgeon told her not to
worry..... IT  WOULD GROW BACK!!!!!!!!!
We had a good laugh about this after lots of tears...and wondering why we
can't get our breast to grow to what ever size we  want if it regenerates.
The mom did have this breast stripped of milk ducts and the reconstructive
surgery but continued to breastfeed on the other breast without any problems.
 The  cause of the original problem was elevated prolactin levels.  She has
had hyperprolactinemia since her teens.  So please watch this woman so she
does not end up with  a nightmare like this.
