I don't think I can help too much, because I don't know if there is much
evidence-based research on this. But I would think that skin-to-skin and
close contact with a parent would be a great help in bonding. I know
that when the question of lesbian mothers breastfeeding has come up,
many people have suggested that it would be preferable for one woman to
breastfeed rather than both, in order to ensure one-on-one bonding. I
don't know if the situation is analagous, since neither partner will be
able to develop a supply...
I was thinking that finger-feeding might be a nice option in this case.
I would also suggest slinging, co-sleeping, and all the other approaches
that are associated with attachment parenting.
