The question has arisen concerning day care centers and the handling of
breast milk. Each breastfeeding mother in this particular day care gives a
different set of breast milk storage and milk handling guidelines. Does
anyone know if a documented set of guidelines for day care centers exist?

Should the care givers wear gloves? A call to OSHA was not conclusive about
whether they consider breast milk to be a "bodily fluid."

Once breast milk is thawed, how long can it stay at room temperature before
it must be discarded?

If a baby does not drink all of the breast milk at one feeding, can this milk
be refrigerated and reused at the next feeding?

We have been checking opinions and resources and there doesn't seem to be any
consistency of information.

Thanks!
