It has been brought to my attention off-list that visible blood in the 
stool may be considered *normal* in an exclusively breastfed baby, and 
that this was discussed here some time ago.  I have searched the 
archives to no avail and would be glad for suggested search terms.

I find it very, very difficult to believe that bleeding in the gut 
could ever be considered normal.  I have no trouble buying that it may 
be *common*
