I often substitute tobacco companies for formula companies when I'm thinking
through ethical issues. Are there any circumstances under which we'd be
willing to give a talk on lung surgery or new chemo meds or cancer
prevention or the hospital's new respiratory therapy dept or some such, if
the conference were partially underwritten by a tobacco company?

Since I don't have any expertise in any of those areas, I haven't given it a
moment's thought, beyond setting up a scenario. Could some of us who *do*
have cancer or lung-related expertise comment on the ethics involved for
them, or the conditions they would apply before they'd speak, or whether
such a conference would even happen?
